West of Verona is the beautiful suburb of West Orange. West Orange and Verona are often viewed as brother and sister towns, offering similar neighborhoods and amenities. West Orange is home to some of Essex County’s best public golf courses; Frances Byrne Golf Course and Rock Spring Golf Club. West Orange has its own recreational landmark in the South Mountain Reservation. This 2,000+ acre park and recreation complex has dozens of walking / hiking trails, play grounds, a paddle boat lake/reservoir, Codey Arena, and Turtle Back Zoo. If that wasn’t enough, take a trip to the famed Eagle Rock Reservation for additional walking trails, and breathtaking New York City views from the 9/11 memorial. West Orange also has its own exit off of Route 280 which connects to the Holland Tunnel and many other major highways, including the Garden State Parkway.
